Terms of Service
Last updated: March 15, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using TYNKR ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Software.
2. Description of Service
TYNKR is a desktop application that provides a multi-panel workspace for software development. It runs locally on your device and integrates with third-party AI services, code editors, and developer tools. TYNKR supports multiple AI coding assistants — including Claude Code, Aider, Goose, OpenCode, and Codex CLI — as well as direct API connections to Claude, Gemini, and local models via Ollama or LM Studio.
3. License & Pricing
3.1 Free Trial
TYNKR offers a 14-day free trial. The trial begins when you register with your email address and requires no payment information. During the trial, all features are available without restriction.
3.2 Purchase
After the trial period, continued use of TYNKR requires a one-time purchase of $20 USD. This is not a subscription — there are no recurring fees. Payment is processed securely by Stripe. Upon purchase, you will receive a license key via email.
3.3 License Scope
Your license is personal and non-transferable. A single license may be activated on up to 3 devices that you own or control. If you need to move your license to a new device, you can deactivate a device from Settings > License within the app.
3.4 License Verification
TYNKR verifies your license using digitally signed tokens that can be validated offline after initial activation. The app contacts our licensing server during activation and periodic re-validation. If the server is temporarily unavailable, your existing activation remains valid.
4. Refunds
If you are unsatisfied with TYNKR, you may request a refund within 14 days of purchase by emailing support@tynkr.dev. Refunds are issued at our discretion. Upon refund, your license will be revoked and you must cease using the Software.
5. Your Responsibilities
- API keys: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your own API keys and credentials. TYNKR stores these in your operating system's secure credential store but cannot prevent misuse if your device is compromised.
- AI tool usage: You are responsible for all actions taken by AI agents running within TYNKR, including file modifications, terminal commands, and API calls. TYNKR provides permission controls (Supervised, Balanced, Full Trust) to help you manage AI autonomy — it is your responsibility to configure them appropriately.
- Third-party compliance: You agree to comply with all applicable laws and the terms of service of any third-party APIs and tools you access through the Software.
- License key: You may not share, redistribute, or resell your license key. One license key is for one person.
6. Third-Party Services & Tools
TYNKR facilitates direct connections between your device and third-party services. We do not operate, control, or proxy these connections. We are not responsible for:
- The availability, accuracy, or output of third-party AI services
- Any data you send to third-party APIs through your own keys
- The behavior of third-party AI CLI tools (Aider, Goose, OpenCode, Codex) that you install and run through TYNKR
- Any costs incurred through your use of third-party APIs
Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and policies.
7. AI-Generated Content & Actions
TYNKR provides tools for AI agents to read files, write code, execute commands, and interact with your development environment. You acknowledge that:
- AI-generated code and output may contain errors, security vulnerabilities, or intellectual property issues. You are responsible for reviewing all AI output before use.
- AI agents may modify files on your system when granted permission to do so. TYNKR's permission system provides controls, but you accept responsibility for any changes made.
- TYNKR is not liable for any damage, data loss, or unintended consequences resulting from AI agent actions.
8. Auto-Updates
TYNKR includes an auto-update system that periodically checks for new versions. Updates are signed and verified before installation. You can disable auto-update checks in Settings. We recommend keeping auto-update enabled to receive security patches.
9. Intellectual Property
The Software, including its source code, design, logos, and documentation, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved. You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the Software except as permitted by these Terms
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software except as permitted by applicable law
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
- Use the TYNKR name, logo, or branding without written permission
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF ANY AI-GENERATED OUTPUT PRODUCED THROUGH THE SOFTWARE.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL TYNKR OR ITS CREATORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, COST OF PROCUREMENT OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS OR SERVICES, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE.
12. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your license if you violate these Terms, including but not limited to: sharing or reselling your license key, circumventing the licensing system, or using the Software for illegal purposes. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Software and delete all copies in your possession.
You may terminate your use at any time by uninstalling the Software. Termination does not entitle you to a refund outside of the 14-day refund window.
13. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. If we make material changes, we will notify users via the app's update system or by email. Your continued use of the Software after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
